COLOUR MANAGEMENT FOR GLOBALIZED TEXTILE AND CLOTHING INDUSTRY

Colour management is important for textile and clothing industry especially with the globalization of the industry. Correct use of the colour management at each stage of the supply chain of the coloured goods can greatly reduce the lead-time from product design to market. Unfortunately, colour management is not an easy task. It involves the technologies in colour measurement, the system for colour quality evaluation, and new colour communication method. In this paper, the state-of-the-art techniques, the quality aspects, and the standards and practices of the colour management are discussed. The technologies for visual, instrumental colour evaluation, web-based colour space and communication, digital swatch are also explained.
