This article examines the effects of CEO succession, particularly succession by the family members who own a significant portion of firm shares, on diversification strategy. CEO succession has been one of the most important topics in organizational behavior as well as in strategy. Due to the vital role of CEO in substantive and symbolic organizational outcomes, the change of CEO tends to evoke significant changes in those organizational outcomes.
