We report ~(133)Cs and ~(23)Na spectra of Cs_8Na_xGe_(136) clathrates. Fully loaded Cs_8Na_(16)Ge_(136) shows only ionic signals from both Cs and Na nuclei. In contrast to the Cs_8Na_(16)Si_(136) clathrate, germanium Cs_8Na_(16)Ge_(136) clathrate shows no large Knight or paramagnetic shifts. However, when sodium is removed from Cs_8Na_(16)Ge_(136), the resulting Cs_8Ge_(136) clathrate shows a very large shift in the ~(133)Cs NMR spectrum.
