A study of retrogression and reaging (RRA) of aluminum alloy 7249-T76 was performed. The primary goal of this experiment was to achieve a T6-RRA optimization treatment for 7249, which included T6 and T76 optimizations. The retrogression heat treatments consisted of a number of times between 20 and 120 minutes and a number of temperatures between 170℃ and 210℃. Reaging treatments were done in accordance with the optimized T6 condition (121℃ for 24 hours).
