摘要

Our preliminary studies have shown the feasibility of using a high resolution microCT imaging system to obtain 3-D density variations induced by nanoparticles in gel. Comparing with a heat transfer study of the volumetric heat generation rate confirms the linear relationship between the pixel number in the microCT images and the nanoparticle concentration in the gel after injection. Although the nanoparticle transport in gel cannot be directly applied to tissue, our study shows that microCT can be very useful in the near future to quantitatively study nanoparticle distribution in opaque tumor.
