RAW SUGAR MANUFACTURE IN INDIA AN OVERVIEW

Due to continuous surplus production of sugar from the last several seasons together with considerable fall in the sugar prices in the domestic as well as international markets, the profitability of the sugar units has suffered a set back. The technologist's are in search of options so as to encounter the present crisis. Under these circumstances production of raw sugar particularly in relatively lower capacity plants may be better option. In the present article the authors have discussed the system of raw sugar manufacture in existing Indian sugar factories alongwith it's economics.
