RESPONSE OF NEW SUGARCANE VARIETIES TO WIDE ROW SPACING

Response of three new sugarcane varieties (Co 91010, Co 94005 and Co 94008) was studied under wide row spacings of 120 cm, 150 cm as single row planting and 150 cm dual row planting in comparison with their response to normal spacing of 90 cm. Variety Co 91010 was found most suitable for wide row spacing. At 150 cm spacing, the dual row planting pattern was better than single row planting. Row spacings did not influence the juice quality.
