Constructing Parametric Surfaces for Integrating Topology and Shape Optimizations

摘要

In this paper, advanced parametric surface construction methods that support integration of topology and shape optimizations are presented. Theoretical and practical requirements for the desirable methods are discussed first. Three main-stream methods available in the literatures, i.e., least square curve fitting and surface skinning, surface least square fitting, and surface mesh of general topology, are briefly presented. Pros and cons of individual method and their limitations are discussed.
