摘要

The structural topology optimization of truss with overlapped bars subjected to stress, local and global stability constraints is studied. Model of topology optimization for an example with overlapped bars is formulated. Global and local optima are obtained and figures of feasible domains under different geometrical cases are illustrated. Influence of stability constraint on optimal topologies is studied as well. It is pointed out that for small values of lengths of compressive bars, the critical constraint is stress constraint. As the length is big enough, local stability constraint becomes most influential and dominant. This study shows that the geometrical similarity concept in traditional structural design should be used cautiously when stability constraints are taken into account.
