In recent years, new drilling technologies have changed therntraditional well profile to increase field productivity. Thernmajority of new wells now being drilled have one or morernhorizontal legs in order to maximize the drilled hole interfacernwith the rock formation, thereby increasing production from arnsingle wellhead. New techniques to manage and service thesernwells have also emerged, however, re-entry into open hole orrnuncontrolled multilateral junctions can be difficult.rnA new coil tubing tool or lateral entry guidance system hasrnbeen developed to help locate and steer into these multiplerncompletions. The tool uses a unique methodology for use withrnstandard coil tubing to gain access into lateral legs. No specialrnelectrical conduits are required to operate the tool and toolrnfunction is automatic when downhole. A precise series ofrnpressures and flow rates from a surface pump are the onlyrnrequirement to operate the tool. The tool can deliver mostrnstimulation fluids directly via the coiled tubing or piggybackrnother coil tubing tools.
