Post-occupancy analysis of the real goods solar living center

This paper is a report on the post-occupancy passive and active solar performance of the Retail Showroom at Real Goods' Solar Living Center. The 5000 s.f. showroom features straw-bale walls with a sprayed soil-cement (a.k.a. PISE) finish, which are integral parts of the passive solar design. Conclusions include: centre dot The thermal mass of the straw-bale walls provides a 12-hour lag from the outdoor ambient temperature.
