The Korean Peninsula is considered as a seasonal frost frozen area that is thawed in the springrnand frozen in the winter. The influence of fines of the frost susceptibility of subgrade soils was established byrnthe laboratory freezing tests simulating closely the thermal conditions in the field. During the winter season,rnthe climate is heavily influenced by the cold and dry continental high pressure. Because of siberian air mass,rnthe temperature of January is -6~-7℃ on average. This chilly weather generate the frost heaving by freezingrnthe moisture of soil and damage potential of the road structure.rnIn this study, the frost susceptibility of subgrade soil was evaluation by means of the mechanical property testrnand laboratory freezing system apparatus. The various datum such as temperature, heaving amount, heavingrnpressure and unfrozen water contents of soil samples, the subgrade soils of highway construction site) werernmeasured to determine the frost susceptibility.rnFurthermore, Peninsula changes of moisture content in the field and temperature changes in the pavement. Thernseasonal changes of moisture content and temperature of the in-situ measurement was investigated with thernseasonal changes of moisture content and temperature variation in the road structure.
