The displacement of non-Newtonian power-law fluids inrncommunicating stratified reservoirs with a log normalrnpermeability distribution is studied. Equations are derived forrnthe fractional oil recovery , water cut, and injectivity ratio atrntimes of break through in the successive layers of the reservoir.rnM any of the resulting equations are implicit in nature and anrniterative solution procedure is used. Expressions are alsornderived for the pseudo relative permeabilities as function ofrnthe average saturation.The performance is compared with thatrnfor the Newtonian fluids. The effect of the differentrnparameters on the performance is investigated. Thesernparameters included the apparent mob ilityity ratio, the powerlawrnflow behavior indexes, the Dykstra-P arsons variationrncoefficient, and the flow rate. Constant injection rate andrnconstant total pressure drop cases are studied.
