The sample used in the experiment came from a Lead and Zinc mineral processing plant in Hezhangrnof Guizhou province. The tailings of the plant had placed in the open area for more than a decade,rnand the properties of the mineral had greatly changed, which made it very difficult to separate.rnThe exploratory experiments indicated that the ‘ZnS collected firstly, ZnO secondly’ principlernfloatation flow sheet was very necessary to the mineral. Then the reagents used in both collectionsrnwere determined: in first flotation, CuSO_4 was used to activate sphalerite, then butyl xanthate wasrnused as collector; in second flotation, NaS was used as sulphurator, CuSO_4 as activator, butyl xanthaternand Hydroximic acid as collectors. The flow sheet-’one rougher, two scavenger, three cleaner forrnsulphurated zinc mineral, one rougher, one scavenger, three cleaner for oxidized zinc mineral, therntwo concentrate mixed as the final concentrate’ was attained through a great deal of experiments.rnThe concentrate got from the closed circuit contained 39.68 per cent Zn with a recovery of 73.74 perrncent, it’s satisfying result for the processing of the lead-zinc tailings.
