RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF VERTICAL SCREW STIRRED MILL

This paper firstly presents the basic structure and work principle of the vertical screw stirred mill,rnand then describes how to design and manufacture the vertical screw stirred mill.rnIn order to determine the optimal structure and parameters of the vertical screw stirred millrneconomically, computational fluid dynamics combined with plenty of experimental data obtainedrnfrom lab mill is used to optimise the mill’s structure and parameters gradually. The design andrnmanufacture of the mill are based on the engineering enlargement principle that combines thernmethod of computational flow field numerical simulation with the conventional mechanics analysisrntogether.rnThe use of the mill in regrinding and scrubbing molybdenum ores apparently raises the grade andrnrecovery of its concentrate. Meanwhile, this paper also introduces the mill’s application in the otherrnareas such as fine grinding in gold ores, regrinding in copper, lead-zinc, iron ores and manganousrnmanganic oxide (Mn_3O_4) production. Vertical screw stirred mill’s put into industrial productionrnshows and proves its excellent performance in regrinding, fine grinding and scrubbing.
