Physiological Functions of Sugar Cane Extracts II. Growth promotion, immunopotentiation and anti-coccidial infection effects in chickens

Oral administration of SCE resulted in promotion of growth, enhanced antibody production (immunization), increased number of antibody producing B cells (IgM and IgG), proportion of T cells in peripheral blood leucocytes, increased phagocytic activity of leucocytes, DTH response (cell-mediated immunity) and anti-cocidial infection effects. Taken together, SCE is considered to be a potent natural immunopotentiating agent.
