Course Evaluations Online: Putting a Structure into Place

For a variety of reasons, universities are seeking ways to putrncourse evaluations online. We describe a pilot programrnimplemented in the College for Computer Sciences, Mathematicsrnand Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland. We willrndescribe the process that began with a committee articulatingrnneeds, tailoring the use of WebCT as the overall environment,rncreating specialized tools for supporting students and faculty, andrndownloading the data for statistical processing. The paperrndiscusses the issues the project faced, the resolutions to thesernissues, and new challenges facing this program.
