Black holes: cosmic bodies of extreme gravity from which not even light can escape. Formed by the collapse of massive stars, these cosmic bodies are a mystery to astronomers. Astronomers know these objects exist, yet they cannot see them. The only way to study black holes is by observing the effects they have on matter nearby. Astronomers can study the nearby matter to obtain information about the black hole, but this kind of studying is not in-depth enough. Black holes are difficult to study because they are extremely small and they emit no light. Current technology provides decent images of the areas where possible black holes exist, but better technology is needed to perform more in-depth studies of black holes. New technology needs to be developed to improve the observation of black holes from earth, or a new method of observing needs to be formulated. To study black holes more in-depth, would a probe sent near an existing black hole to perform research be plausible? The cost of such an operation would be too great given the dangers. Also, the amount of time it would take a probe to arrive within a safe distance of a black hole is too great. The risks, cost, and time involved are too much to conduct such a mission. Therefore, a mission to a black hole would not be plausible. However, more in-depth studies should be conducted to learn more about these amazing cosmic bodies.
