Simulation of Operating States and Characteristics of Heat Pumps

The issue of application of heat pump is based on several operational aspects of these energy sources. Due to the physical principle of heat pump, it can be said that it is an alternative power source. Currently, as an essential part of the heat pump, the Scroll compressor with electric power supply is mostly used. Since electricity production is associated with about 30% efficiency, therefore the key operating indicator of the heat pump is the average heating factor (COP_(ave)), which should have a minimum value of 3.0. This paper, which is based on knowledge obtained within the project of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, shows the possibility of determining COP_(ave) using mathematical modeling in Wolfram Mathematica software environment. For a basic comparison of the results obtained from mathematical modeling there is used the analysis of measured values on assembled physical model of a heat pump.
