Different Epistemological Perspectives and their Implications for Knowledge Management in Organizations

摘要

The article aims at identifying the key properties of knowledge according to various epistemological perspectives and discussing their implications for KM activities emphasised by organisations. The first section of the article deals with interpretations of knowledge by different epistemologies. In the second section, various categories of organizational knowledge discussed in management and organisation studies are placed within an epistemological framework. The paper ends with discussing the relationship between underlying epistemological perspectives and choice of KM activities.
