MINOAN LINES 'OLYMPIA PALACE' TRIAL

The third and final SAFEGUARD trial was conducted on board the Ro-Pax Minoan Line vessel H/S/F "Olympia Palace" on the 12th and 14th of March 2011. The vessel operates on the Patras - Corfu - Igoumenitsa - Venice route together with her sister vessel "Europa Palace". The trial consisted of two separate mustering exercises that took place shortly after departure from Patras and Venice respectively. Due to some unforeseeable events the number of passengers was lower than normal for the season levels. The trials were conducted according to the developed protocol and based on the experience gathered in the previous project trials. Participation of the passengers was satisfactory as well as the response rate to the questionnaires that were distributed upon embarkation. Crew participation was crucial to the success of the trial. Results were in line with the rest of the trials. Valuable experience was gained both companywide and at the crew level.
