The Internet: A new computing platform

Last year when I delivered the Opening Keynote address at CAPE '97, I posed the question "The Information Revolution: Contemporary Or Not?" I concluded that what we are really experiencing, is "The Dissemination of Information Revolution" and, whilst this may in your opinion represent only a subtle change in emphasis, I believed then, as I do now, that it is important to grasp this subtlety in order to understand that technology will change the way you receive and relay information to such an extent; that it will have a profound influence on how your life and work is organised.
