摘要

Today, steel fibre reinforced concrete is widely used for the construction of industrial floors. Although design is often based on elastic theory there are more suitable design methods available. One of them is the so called yield line theory. Using this design approach, the material properties of steel fibre reinforced concrete can be taken into account. Therefore a more realistic ultimate load can be determined. In consequence, the floor thickness can be reduced while having the same load bearing capacity when comparing it with a conventional, unreinforced slab. In order to provide suitable serviceability restraint deformation has to be limited by e.g. means of saw cuts, plastic sheets, bituminous layers, low shrinkage cement etc.
