STEP is an important basis technology when Rapid Prototyping(RP) applied into tele-manufacturing and integrated DIMS systems. precision is one of key problems that affect RP intormarkets. The method of accurately slicing STEP-based 3d modulescould meet the demands of industrial precision and integration. The STEp files of 3D modules could be generated in Advanced B-rep of AP 203, the geometry and topology information is extracted by SDAI tools and translated into information of plane, quadratic surface and NURBS surface, which will be stroed in a data structure. The intersection curves of the cutting plane and planes or quadratic surfaces are gotten through solving their equations. The technology of subdividing and ding is used to slice NURBS surfaces. THis method will improve the Rp rpecision and popularize application of RP.
