This paper describes the usage of modified fly ash to treat glyphosate wastewater. The modified fly ash was achieved by reaction of the ground and sieved raw fly ash with hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium (HDTMA) solution. CODCr in the wastewater was removed via adsorption by modified fly ash. Effects of the parameters in the adsorption process, as well as in the process for preparation of the modified fly ash, on the final removal rate of CODCr were investigated. It was found by the orthogonal test that, to achieve the optimum removal rate of CODCr the HDTMA solution needs to be maintained at the concentration of 40 g/L and reacts with raw fly ash at 40 for 80 min; while the dosage of the modified fly ash is 40 g/L for the adsorption process. The ℃ removal rate of CODCr can reach 28.73% under the optimum conditions.
