摘要

This paper presents a study of electromagnetic dispersion of waveguide based on periodic structure using the transmission line approach and Floquet's theorem. The waveguide structure discussed in this paper is made of an infinite repetition of layers in one dimension. The structure is modeled as an infinite repetition of unit cell, by defining the matrix chain of the unit cell and using Floquet's theorem. Then we obtain the equation of dispersion of the structure. This structure produces a set of allowed and forbidden frequency bands which are plotted and discussed, the width of these bands depends on many parameter of the structure; the results of this analysis are presented.
