Annual-to-decadal Variations in Wave Power Statistics at NOWPHAS Stations around Japan

The monthly and the annual wave power statistics including the medianrnwave directions were estimated from 1970 at the NOWPHAS wavernstations around Japan. The annual and the interannual variations in thernmonthly statistics were compared between the Pacific Ocean and thernSea of Japan coast and between the deepwater and the coastal stations.rnThe statistics hindcasted by inputting JMA GCM sea surface wind datarnto the WAM model were compared with those observed at therndeepwater stations.
