The Geopig is one of the units of the traditional inline inspection whichrnis used to verify integrity of pipeline system by finding and assessingrndifferent defects in a pipe wall-thickness. The results of Geopig arernwidely used for the determination of spatial position of the piperncenterline points. Note, that initial input information about the X-Y-Zrnposition is given with some error. This leads to a huge noise inrnpredicted curvatures which can overrun the useful information. Thernapplication of any smoothing procedure may lead to the loss of thernuseful information about curvatures. Two quantitative parameters arernintroduced here to allow performing such a tradeoff.rnTo find the pipe centerline geometry numerical algorithm is proposed.rnEach measured point as a compliant support is considered. Compliancernof supports is determined using probabilistic analysis of devicernaccuracy and acceptable accuracy of the curvature determination.
