On the basis of nearshore hydrodynamics, a 2D numerical model ofrnsediment transport was established and verified to study the effects ofrnbeach nourishment, which is to be constructed at Tiger-Rock Beach inrnQinhuangdao. The distribution of suspended sediment concentration isrncharacterized to high and low suspended sediment concentration (SSC)rnzone by two submerged sandbars and one submerged rubble-moundrnbreakwater. The high SSC zone was at the crest of two sandbars andrnadjacent areas. The analysis of bed thickness change demonstrates thatrnthe crest of two sandbars has been eroded less than 8cm for one-monthand-rna-half scale, and the rubble-mound breakwater protected its foot inrncombination with previous submerged sandbar of West Beach. Thernresults suggest that beach nourishment in Tiger-Rock Area has not ledrnto large variation of sediment transport in short-term.
