摘要

Due to non–symmetry of the flow past the maneuvering hull, the shiprnexperiences hydrodynamic forces. The magnitude of these forces andrnmoments increase when travelling through shallow water due to therninterruption of bottom crossing flow. This paper presents an approachrnfor that estimates the bare hull forces for non-symmetric flowrnconditions such as drifting, yawing and drift + yaw combined usingrnsteady state RANS solver where a double body model approximation isrnadopted to simulate the flat free surface. The nominal wake variation isrndetermined and verified for the drifting cases. The appended hull forcesrnare estimated and the trajectory of the ship for zig-zag maneuver isrnsimulated.
