The research of prof.julian szekely prior to 1976

摘要

This paper examines the many contributions made by Prof.Julian Szekely in his years prior to joining MIT.After listing many of the topics on which Szekely worked,the paper goes on to a more detailed examination of two subjects:flow in packed beds(and the stack regions of blast furnaces),and the continuous casting of steel.It is the author's belief that the research of Julian Szekely has inspired much of our present-day investigation on these topics.
