In this paper, we present our recent work on single trench assisted Bending-insensitive fiber (BIF) and Ultra Bending-lnsensitive fiber (UBEF) made by PCVD and Rod-In-Cylinder (RIC) process. The influence of trench volume on macro and micro bending loss are analyzed. By optimizing trench volume, we could reduce UBIF's macro bending loss of 5mm bending radius to a very low level and keep a suitable fiber cutoff and cable cutoff. By utilizing the excellent micro bending loss led by large trench volume design, the reduced coating diameter BIF fiber (200μm G.657.A2 fiber) has better micro bending loss than small trench volume concept. Finally, we illustrate the Multi Path Interference (MPI) phenomenon of our single trench assisted BIF and UBIF's characteristics and MPI phenomenon under different conditions is also studied. Notably, our BIF and UBIF show excellent compatibility with ITU-T G.652.D recommendation and also have higher tolerance with MPI when the cable cutoff is close to 1260nm at varied conditions.
