Design and Application of 48-core Branch Cable in Multi-dwelling Units

FTTx application is rapidly growing in 2012 in China, the number of FTTH subscribers was a significant increase. Indoor cabling has become a new construction mode in Multi-dwelling Units. It needs the fiber optic cable to meet the new requirements, including high core density, high tensile strength, flame retardant and so on. In order to construct optical access networks economically and efficiently. In this paper, we proposed a 48-core branch cable mainly used in Multi-dwelling Units. The cable was using a three layer S-stranded structure, through the production of die design and process control to ensure performance of the fiber optic cable. The results showed that: the cable has excellent transmission, environmental and mechanical characteristics. Furthermore, we have described the application of the actual in buildings in detail, the fiber optic cable has a quick branch connector convenience advantages, has been widely recognized in the FTTx construction in china.
