摘要

A first noise map of the Mexico City Metropolitan Area has been developed at thernUniversidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus through a partnership withrnthe environmental authority of the city government. Findings of this project show that thernurban complex area, as in most large cities, is severely exposed to noise due to road traffic.rnThis phenomenon not only affects the population’s health but the sound environment of therncity as a whole. Most typical neighborhoods within the urban milieu are affected; as arnresult, their population has changed their daily routines. Traditionally these neighborhoodsrnwere places where people were used to activities like taking a walk, listening to outdoorsrnmusic ensembles, listening to children play, reading a book, chatting, socializing, etc. Thernproject aims to explore this problem and to propose design solutions that bring back anrnattractive environment conceptualized in a contemporary way. This paper includes arngeneral noise mapping of selected neighborhoods, and an analysis of routes at each place.rnAt the meeting, sounds taken and recorded on site will be also presented.
