CONTRIBUTION TO THE DATA WAREHOUSE AND PROSPECTS OF THE IRS PROGRAM

Over the past two years, the IRS program has againrnsignificantly contributed to the GSC-DA DatarnWarehouse. From its suite of optical EO satellites whichrnoperate in the visible, near IR and shortwave IR domain,rnmultispectral data from the HR LISS-III and MRrnAWiFS sensors have been provided. Both cameras arernimplemented on board of Resourcesat-1 andrnResourcesat-2 respectively. Despite reduced capacities,rnthe Resourcesat constellation of satellites so farrnacquired cloud-free images of a vast majority of the firstrnHR coverage of CORE_001 and several monthly MRrncoverages for CORE_008 over the EEA-39. The resultsrnregarding the above mentioned data sets will berndiscussed including an appraisal of the possible futurernrole of upcoming IRS EO satellites for European datarnrequirements.
