CRYOSAT LRM PROCESSING OVER ANTARCTICA

Like for all past ESA missions (ERS1&2, ENVISAT)rnthe CryoSat2 altimeter Low Resolution Mode (LRM) isrnused over a large part of the Antarctica ice sheet. In thisrnwork we analyze the products delivered by the CryosatrnProcessing Prototype (CPP) chain implemented byrnCNES [1].rnThe main part of the paper is devoted to the analysis ofrna spatially structured, pattern observed in the crossoversrndata. We argue that this pattern is caused by arnphenomenon that has been already observed in the ERSrnand ENVISAT data and was previously documented [2],rn[3], [4].rnHowever, the differences between the Cryosat2 andrnENVISAT orbits provide new insights for the analysisrnwhich could prove useful in the future for revisiting thisrnphenomenon and improve the processing of thernhistorical data.
