SENTINEL-3 OCEAN LAND COLOR IMAGER (OLCI): LAND PRODUCTS AND VALIDATION

This paper first summarizes the operational landrnproducts of the future Ocean Land Colour Instrumentrn(OLCI) on board Sentinel3, in particular, the Fraction ofrnAbsorbed Photosynthetic Active Radiation (FAPAR)rnand the OLCI Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index (OTCI).rnThen the validation plan of these products is thenrnpresented: it focuses on an independent strategy forrnmaking use of ground-based measurements over a largernsample of vegetation types together with radiativerntransfer modelling for assessing theoretical accuraciesrnfrom both space and in-situ retrieval methods.
