摘要

The three-dimensional effect of flow past bluff body poses difficultrnproblems for simulation. The work here focuses on using highrnresolution TVD (total variation diminishing) numerical scheme tornsimulate the case of flow around a wall-mounted three-dimensionalrncircular cylinder. The well validated TVD code for two-dimensionalrnflow simulation is expanded to solve three-dimensional problems. Thisrnwork gives a comparison between the results from the newly developedrnmodel and the results from previous numerical simulations as well asrnexperiments. It is shown that present model poses reasonable resultsrnand predicts better velocity fields than previous model.
