We conducted an experiment in order tornelucidate an ideal method to achieve bothrnenergy saving and the comfort in officernlighting. In this report, we carried out thernsubjective experiments in actual office in 48rnconditions of lighting and furniture, such asrndifferent average illuminance, differentrnlighting area, adding wall-washer and somerndifferent reflectance and height of partitions.rnLuminance images were captured fromrnthe subject’s eye point, and converted intornbrightness images base on Nakamura’srnmethod, and we tried to analyze thernrelationship of the perceived brightness andrnthe brightness images. In the results, thernsubjective evaluation value of brightness ofrnthe room had a strong correlation with thernaverage brightness value of verticalrncomponents such as a wall and a partitionrncalculated from brightness image (coefficientrnof correlation: 0.90). There is a possibilityrnthat we can reduce the electricityrnconsumption and get higher perceivedrnbrightness by raising the brightness of thernvertical components.
