Light Leakage Analysis of Twisted Nematic Mode Liquid Crystal Displays

摘要

The twisted nematic (TN) mode liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are widely used in the LCD manufacturing industry. The TN mode LCD manufacturing process, though very mature, still suffers from various defects such as light leakage that degrade display quality. In this paper, three types of defect-induced light leakages are analyzed. They come from cell gap distortion, black matrix (BM) width defect and incomplete reaction of the edge sealant of the panel, respectively. The solutions to solve these problems are presented.
