Collimation optical system of Head-Mounted Display (HMD) with large exit pupil and special use condition was studied to simplify parallax adjustment; the sources and the principle of parallax of HMD were analyzed. By the introduction of maximum relative parallax ( αHMD ), the compensation quantum was linked to exit pupil diameter (D), focal length (f')and designated object distance (lo), a common equation was formed according to the rules of imaging optics, furthermore, a simplified oraiula, dl=-αhmd×f2/D,was derived specifically taking account of the optical property of HMDs, and the method to quantize the parallax adjustment for HMDs was detailed.
