Most existing computer models usernCHTC's that have been calculated for isolatedrnsurfaces.rnThis work presents accurate convective heat transferrncoefficients for a heated wall in a room. Using heatingrnplates attached to a wall of an environmental testrnchamber and by accurately measuring the surfáce andrnair temperatures, the CHTC's have been deduced afderrnallowing for conduction and radiation losses from thernplates. When compared with data published in thernASHRAE Handbook and the CIBSE Guide, thernCHTC's values given in this paper differ by betweenrn-13% and + 20% respectively.
