An Exploratory Study Investigating Data Qualityin the Healthcare Industry:What are the Implications for Data Warehousing?

Maintaining quality data and information challengesrntoday’s organizations, and is essential to good decisionmakingrnand competitive advantage. The purpose of thisrnstudy is to understand the dimensions of data quality and tornlearn how managers perceive them. The 20 dimensions ofrndata quality posited by Wang and Strong were used in thisrnstudy. The relative importance of those dimensions byrnhealthcare industry managers was assessed.rnStudy findings indicate that all 20 of Wang and Strong’srndata quality descriptive dimensions are important to thernhealthcare industry. Additionally, data from thisrnexploratory research seems to suggest that there may not berna “one size fits all” model for data quality.
