Hybrid bridges in Expressway in Japan

Recently, a lot of steel-concrete hybrid (composite & mixed) bridges have been constructed in Expressways in Japan. In order to reduce the bridge construction cost instead of steel bridges and concrete bridges, hybrid bridges have been paid attention, and the construction of them has been increasing. They are composite 2-1 girder bridges, hybrid rigid-frame bridges, mixed girder bridges, PC box girder with corrugated steel web or steel truss web and so on. Herein, several of the above hybrid bridges are introduced with characteristics of them.
