摘要

To study the protective effects of Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb) against endothelial cell damage induced by lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC),a principal component of oxidized low density liprprotein (LDL),the effects of LPC on the vasorelaxation response to acetylcholine (ACh) in the isolated rabbit thoracic aortas and on culture bovine aortic and cerebral microvasscular endothelial cells were investigated. These results indicated that EGb affenuated the inhibition of vasorelaxiation response to ACh and prevented the LPC-induced cultured endothelial cell damage.EGb protects the endothelium against damage elicited by LPC due to reduction in lipid peroxidation via free-radical scavenging activity.
