In this work, a bibliometric research method was usedrnwhere co-authorships are regarded as an indicator ofrninternational research collaboration of Turkish, Greek,rnPolish, and Portuguese scientists; for comparisonrnpurposes scientists from the mainstream countriesrnsuch as Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway,rnSweden, and the Netherlands. The seventeen yearsrn(1990-2006) of scientific research collaboration of thernaforementioned countries with the G7 nations (France,rnGermany, Italy, Japan, UK, USA, and Canada) wasrnexamined by using ISI Web of Science Database.rnFindings reveal that, Turkey clearly is experiencing arnremarkable proportional co-authorship growth rate withrnthe G7 countries in comparison to Greece, Poland,rnPortugal, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium,rnSwitzerland, and Sweden, for the period of 1990-2006.
