Modern digital audio- and video broadcasting systems, such as DAB and DVB-T are increasingly installed for passenger entertainment into vehicles, such as trains, coaches and cars for example. Additional independent antenna systems need to be implemented into vehicles to receive DAB and DVB-T in the VHF- and UHF-bands respectively. Testing such systems is especially tricky in a vehicular environment, known as Rayleigh-environment fading.rnIn this paper we propose a novel method to measure the performance of DAB & DVB-T vehicular antenna systems while driving. Based on comparing bit-errors versus carrier-to-noise ratio, we are able to rate system performance.
