Morphology Transition of Eutectic Mg_2 Si in Al-Mg_2 Si Alloys

摘要

Eutectic Mg_2Si has two typical morphologies, namely, flake and rod, which coexist in eutectic structure.rnAfter the injection of NiAl_3 phase in Al-Mg_2Si composites, Al-Mg_2Si binary eutectic structure evolves into Al-Mg_2Si-NiAl_3rnternary eutectic, and flake-like Mg_2Si completely transforms into rods. The ternary eutectic presents a unique double rodrnstructure that rod-like NiAl_3 and Mg_2Si uniformly distribute in Al matrix, and the mechanism of eutectic structure evolution wasrndiscussed and analyzed in terms of the detailed microstructural observations.
