Effects of electronic (pre-) publication on scholarly journal publishing: emerging manuscript consideration policies

The purpose of this study was to assess the current policies and practices of s cholarly print journals on considering manuscripts for ublication that were previously pubished in electronic form. Questions such as the follwing are addressed: Suppose that a manuscript has been priviously emialed to members of a listserv, attached to a personal home page, included in cluded in th an electronic preprint collection, or published in an electronic journal. Will journal editors consider such a manuscript for publications: Does it matter if the manuscript has been revised slightly?
