TB-1 was the discovery well for a small oil Field located in a remote tropical forest in Sumatra, Indonesia, far from the closest production plant. Development of this field would require high investment, so early production data from the discovery well was needed to reduce uncertainty in the field production forecast to make better-informed decisions on further development.rnTB-1 was drilled at 1987 and tested with natural flow at 280 bopd with an unknown Gas Oil Ratio (GOR) and no water. Based on this potential, we proposed to re-enter and re-test the well.rnThis paper will explain about the success story of the re-enter and re-test the well, including how to mitigate the uncertainty against the subsurface and surface parameters, by screening the best artificial lift used, scene of the workover. The completion, testing summary and production strategy.rnOn start-up, the TB-1 well flowed 350 bopd with 0.1% Based Sediment and Water (BS&W) for 3 days until the onsite storage tank was full. GOR was not measured but seemed high. This is a good case history. Now, we’ve set up an oil-barging, and started continuous production at 300 bopd with 0.1 % BS&W. We also plan to develop the TB field further, there will be some future works.
